The Augusta Chronicle
To the Editor:
On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express condolences to the family, colleagues and many friends of retired Richmond County State Court Judge Richard A. Slaby of Augusta on his passing at the age of 83.
A member of the Georgia Bar since 1965, Judge Slaby served on the Richmond County State Court from 1997 through 2017 and served as chief judge of the court in 2010. After retirement, he continued his judicial service in senior judge status through 2022. A leader in his profession and his community, he was a past president of the Georgia Council of State Court Judges and the Kiwanis Club of Augusta.
Judge Richard Slaby’s distinguished career of service is an inspiration to all members of the State Bar of Georgia. We are appreciative of his many contributions to the legal profession and justice system. He will be missed and fondly remembered.
