Letter to the Editor

Congratulations to new Houston County Solicitor General Ryan English

Houston Home Journal, Perry

To the Editor:

On behalf of the State Bar of Georgia, I would like to express congratulations to Houston Judicial Circuit Assistant District Attorney Ryan W. English on his appointment by Gov. Brian Kemp to serve as solicitor general for Houston County.

Mr. English will be well served by his 12 years of experience in the legal profession and justice system, including the past nine years with the Houston Circuit District Attorney’s Office. Previously, he worked with the law firm of Walter, Hulbert, Gray & Moore LLP in Perry and as an assistant public defender in the Atlantic Judicial Circuit. He also represents the Houston Circuit on the Board of Governors of the State Bar of Georgia.

I am especially proud to write his letter as I had the pleasure of teaching Accounting for Attorneys to Ryan at Mercer Law School. He was in my class the first year I taught it, and I’ve enjoyed keeping in touch with him through his work in State Bar’s Young Lawyers Division and now as member of our Board of Governors.

By accepting this appointment, Ryan English demonstrates his continued commitment to serving the public and the justice system. We wish him well in his new position as solicitor general.

Sincerely,

Ivy N. Cadle
President, State Bar of Georgia
